After having a stroke life can be hard. You may have a constant feeling of dread in the pit of your stomach, constantly on the look out for the signs of another stroke. You may feel as if a rug has been pulled from under you, you may even feel frustrated by your own body and you may also be feeling weighed down by fatigue. All of these things you're feeling right now are very common after having a stroke.
I know how hard stroke recovery can be, I remember how fragile and vulnerable I felt after coming home from hospital, I remember how emotional and tired I was. I was so unsure of myself in those early days and felt like I couldn't trust my body.
If any of this sounds familiar to you, my 121 programme could be just the thing you've been looking for.
Can you visualise what would be possible for you and your life if you allowed yourself to be guided gently through a programme that is designed to specifically help stroke survivors to regain their life after stroke.
Together we will:
Reconnect back to your body so that you can feel safe within
Bring trust back within your body
Learn to listen to the inner wisdom from your body
Bring your mind and body into alignment
Learn how to work with your emotions instead of being overwhelmed by them
Begin the practice of rest - deep rest, to help your body to heal
Create healthy daily habits to aid in your recovery
Move towards acceptance
Create a vision for your life that fills you with joy and that you're ready to step into!
This is all possible with my 4 step framework:
Reconnect
Regulate
Rest
Reawaken
So what does this 4 step framework look like?
RECONNECT - You'll learn practices that will help you to reconnect, not only to your body but to your feelings and emotions. I'll give you the tools you need to not get overwhelmed by your feelings and emotions so that you can stay fully present within your body. You'll gain a sense peace within your body again and release the daily struggles with your emotions.
REGULATE - This is where you'll learn more about your nervous system and how to regulate it. I think this is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and our recovery, if you don't have a regulated nervous system then you can never feel safe within your body. During this step I'll help you to understand those feelings in your body and how your survival instincts kick in. After working in this way you'll begin to safe within your body again, you'll begin to release any tension you may be feeling to be able to bring more ease in to your body and your life.
REST - This is really underrated in recovery but is so important! When I say rest, I don't just mean sleeping well - although that will help your recovery. I mean all types of rest, we'll look at the different types of rest so that you come away with a plan for yourself on what will work for you. By learning how to rest effectively you'll be able to bring more energy into the things you love doing and you'll also be able to release any guilt you feel around resting.
REAWAKEN - What lights you up? What would you love to do with your life? In this step we'll look at goal setting and moving forwards with your life. After having a stroke you may feel like your aren't participating in life anymore but I'm here to help you build healthy habits, put daily practices in place and set some achievable goals to help you realise you can have a full and happy life after having a stroke.

I had only been aware of the physical aspect of yoga, but Anna brought forth the gentle healing that can come from other essential aspects of yoga - be it breathing, mantra, self-compassion or otherwise. Healing is not linear & so much of what needs to heal is invisible to others. I plan to continue using what Anna shared, showed, demonstrated & has lived herself. None of us “know” what others have gone or are going through, but Anna has tapped in to her own experience as both a yoga teacher & a stroke survivor to create a special safe haven for even the most insecure & biggest skeptic.

Anna has helped me so much with calming my nervous system and giving me the tools to manage my anxiety. What you'll get from me:
You'll receive support from a qualified coach and trauma informed Yoga teacher to help you understand what is happening within your body. We'll explore what's possible for you and set practical goals to help you move forward with your life and your recovery. In these sessions we'll work together to give you a holistic approach to your recovery.
All sessions will be taken online via Zoom.
Your first session will last up to 75 minutes following with 60 minute sessions every other week on days and times that suit us both.

My experience
I am a trained wellbeing life coach, accredited with the Association for Coaching and the NHS Personalised Care Institure. I am also a trauma informed Yoga teacher and have the skills to adapt movements to your body. I have also survived a stroke at the age of 35. As stroke survivors, all our stroke are different but I believe there are common themes that come with recovery and I feel able to offer insights into what has helped me in my own recovery which may be able to help you on your own recovery journey.
